Help me find the right 12" SQ Sub

    I have 300watts 4ohm and 400 watts 2ohm for a 12" sub in
a 1.0 cu ft stealthbox. I don' t listen that loud but I want
a sub that is TIGHT, mostly SQ and can hit the low notes.
I want to keep the price under $300. I'd like to keep
the depth of the sub to less than 7.5" because of
the box. The subs I am looking at are :

    ED12A
    ED12o
    Magnum D2
    JL12W6V2
    Infinity Perfect 12DVQ

Which of these would be best for my application ?

By the way anybody know the depth of the Magnum D2 ?

Agreed, the O will be the cheapest, best sounding sub outta those choices. But it is only meant for sealed boxes, not a good idea to port.

    It's going in a 1.0cuft stealthbox...

Has anyone heard the Infinity 12dvq? I know not too many people
are fond of the 12.1d but has Infinity improved the Perfect
with the 12dvq's ? Especially since you get get them relatively
    cheap $185 or less.

Unlikely. Your biggest worry with an infinity would be overpowering it. At 300 by 4 ohms, you would be fine, but 400w would be pushing it.

I have an Infinity perfect, and plan on upgrading to an eD A pretty soon. I like it, but am not impressed with the build quality of the sub.

Re: Help me find the right 12" SQ Sub

the perfects are sweet sounding and they will handle the 400 watts on the new vq Perfects. I think you may want to look into the O series though. They are a really great sub with an amazing staff that stands behind their product for a full 3 years, you know they make quality stuff if they back it up for that long.

The infinity is very good sounding. Gets pretty loud with the 350w I am throwing at it. I think I just want something that can handle a bit more power with a bit more low end extension.

The depth of the Magnum is 6 3/4" The Magnum performs excellent with 300 watts on it and loves small boxes. Since you are interested in TIGHT bass, I would suggest to go to their website www.stereointegrity and read about how it was designed for extremely tight bass. Hope this information helps.
