Icon14 got my RE8s in (initial review)

well, i finally got my box built and a set of RE8s in my hatchback.

i did a dual chamber box with .48 cuft for each chamber. pretty standard build using 1/2" MDF, screws and liquid nails. i have 150rms in stereo for each of the subs.

i am comparing this to my old setup, a single audiobahn aw100Q with 300rms mono in a sealed .75 cuft box.

the sound is much cleaner and tighter with the RE8s. i love to feel bass drum kicks in my back. i am VERY impressed with the clarity. with punk and other speed metal music, the subs stay clean and very accurate. with the same music the audiobahn turns into a muddle of crap and cannot move quickly enough to respond to the double time bass drum hits. with the RE8s each one is defined and solid. it's EXACTLY how i want my music to sound and i am VERY impressed with the sound for the price

RE8s get a 10 from me for being the best sounding setup i've owned. 4 of these mofos with 150rms would sound ****ing amazing!!!

Re: got my RE8s in (initial review)

well, even better news. come to find out, only one channel on my amp is working, so my above review is for only one 8".

after playing with my amp for a bit, i was able to get it to get both channels working. once that was adjusted and volume turned up... HOLY ****.

i could not believe how much louder the two 8s are versus the single audiobahn 10". un-friggen-believe. i kid you not, i am totally blown away by how amazing these two simple 8" woofers sound. thanks again to RE for a great product.

Haha. It seems that you really like those RE 8's. The single 8 that Loyd had/has in his car was definately impressive. I'm sure that two of them are even more impressive.
