    adire tumult, any good?

assume the cost doesn't matter and a vibe1200d amp, http://www.lanzar.com/itempage.asp?MODEL=VIBE1200D ,will be used for each sub in a 02 lancer.

which sub do you believe to be the best in the given situation?

adire 15" tumult in a 2.25 cu ft sealed box

adire 15" brahma in a 2.25 cu ft sealed box

elemental designs 15a.22 in a 1.5 cu ft sealed box

thanks for any and all help and opinions!

Well with 34mm xmax and 1600rms i'm sure it will perform very well. It's sems to be optimized more for HT utilization, but i'm sure it would perform fine in a car.

    Re: adire tumult, any good?

well yes it is designed for home audio but so is the shiva and tempest and lots of people consider those to be decent car subwoofers so i was thinking why isnt there much talk about the tumults car audio performance?

    Re: adire tumult, any good?

Brahma is better for car audio, I'd think. The Tumult is really made for home audio/theater where it's ideal to have output in the subsonic range. This limits the response of the sub in the "upper" range of subwoofer frequencies, however.

    hmm, interesting...

what is low extension? also because output is ideal at subsonic range does that mean it doesnt sound good all around? thanks again for any and all input

There is no such thing as "too much" when it comes to low end, imo, at least.

"More suited for in car use" is a completely subjective phrase. I'd love to do an install where the peak output came at either a sub-audible or barely audible note.....

Imagine 18hz @ 145db's......it would feel like someone literally slapping you in the back 18 times a second

And if you run the numbers for the tumult thru ISD, it shows a pretty soft slope all the way down to 18hz for quite a few reasonably sized enclosures......
