    Jl W7 10 inch

Is there anything better than the Jl W7 10 inch in the H.O. Wedge JL box for the money? are there any disadvantages to this sub? What sub could beat this one?

    Re: Jl W7 10 inch

Depends what you want. If money is no object and you want serious SQ with some SPL to back it up, the W7 is the way to go. If you want more SPL, there are a number of other subs available - Adire Brahma, Kicker L7, etc. eD makes some great SQ subs, as do a number of other companies. The thing to keep in mind is, the W7 has the best SQ you can get, and will maintain that quality up to a fairly high SPL (but it won't get nearly as loud as say, an L7). However, if you're concerned about the money, then the W7 is not the best way to go.

The top five SPL subs, I think, are:

    RE XXX
    TREO CSX
    SI Magnum D2
    Kicker
    MMATS Juggernaut

Just my subjective opinion, seeing as how I've not heard any of these.

    Re: Jl W7 10 inch

Go with the w7. A friend of mine has the 10 w7 and it rocks. He hits almost 150 with it and that is with the JL 500/1. It is the best sub for your money. There are other good subs out there but I feel the w7 is the best. I heard 2 10" directed comps with 500 watts going to each of them and the w7 was just as loud as they were, and my friend didn't even have it turned up all the way. So the w7 is the best route.
