    getting some 12s, need suggestions

Hey I'm looking to get 2 12s that can go loud but still have decent sq. I was looking at the precision power dcx 12s, but haven't read much on them, does anyone have experience with these or know if they are any good? I have about a grand to spend on the subs and an amp, could you guys could give me some suggestions on some subs and amps if those precision powers are no good.

    Thanks

That amp do max power at 2ohm?

He'd need one that does for Magnums.

Rockford BD1500's can be found for $400 used.......

I think the tsunami 1800d is right around $400 too.......

i would reccomend the tsunami 1800. I have the 1100 (with a broken brahma) i turned it up half way...OMG that thing was pounding. it's only 375 from www.elementaldesigns.com. Puts out very clean power. Very enjoyable

    but for subs....

there are so many of them to choose from

so many dif box sizes needed for them

    so many differnet options

    no budget mentioned.

as there are 12's in the sub $100 range and subs in the plus $400 range

myself i like the shock factor that less subs have. that is why i switched from a pair of 10's to a single 12 a couple years back.
for daily i run a single 12 and in the lanes i run a single 15.

of course with me running elemental i have to put them here
and the eclipse alum for daily it too goes on this list

elemental designs kx, k, o, and a series. all depends on budget as they all rock.
    eclipse aluminum cone
    alpine
    rockford
    kicker
    resonant engineering
    beyond audio
    shocker
    pioneer
    lightning audio
    kenwood
    pyle
    pyramid
    jensen
    kohl
    clarion
    image dynamics
    volfenhag
    jbl
    arc audio
    atomic
    american bass
    jl audio
    crossfire

basically off the top of my head in no order

get out to some shops with yur music and demo some

I said my budget for subs and amp is about $1000. Does anyone know anything about the ppi dcx 12 or have experience with them. I think those are the ones I'm going to get, but I don't want to buy a product unless I hear from people I'm not buying them from that they are good subs. I know ppi is a pretty good company, but I don't have experience with the dcx though.

    ya forgot legacy.

stay away from those brands cuz there junk and they cost 40 dollars anyway.

i think a couple ed 12' A's will do very nicely. that will get u to 600 depending on the power u wanted to run go between the tsunami's 1800 and 1100.

most importantly what do u want sq/spl wise. do u want some awesum sounding **** or just have something that can blow ur hatch open?

guess i should open my eyes and read the screen as i did not see the grand you put in your first post.

i agree with PPI being a great company.
right now my stage amp is old school PPI
    an art series A404 50x4.
it is about 7 mayb 8 years old. still works like a champ
about to put my old school PPI flat piston PC10's in my friends car. they are about 5 years old ans still work verry well.

did you listen to them yet?

this might help you decide if they will work for you.

i know i have heard positive reviews on mtx 8000 series subs.
but for me they just do not cut the mustard.
way too sloppy for my musical tastes.

same with the jl w7 i got to demo several of them in a store.
well imho they all (10, 12 and 13) sounded like asss.

    to each their own

oh and i forgot all about the radio shack brand sub.

the 12A or the 12O would fit the bill nicely and still give you plenty money for a nice amp and material to build a box and amp rack

    I second this setup ^^^

Port the A's tuned low (30hz) theyll be perfect considering since these will blow his hatch open and sound awesome
