    2 SE 15 vs 18 XXX

Which would be a better choice 2 SE 15 or 1 18 XXX? The SE's would be in about 8cft tuned to 35hz while the 18XXX would be in 7cft tunde to 33hz after displacement. Both will be powered by a Brutus 1500D.

hey, regarding the seXXX's whats the power rating on them?

since u are useing a brutus, 750+ at 2 ohm, and 1500+ at 1 ohm, u could just buy one run it at 2 ohm, if thats not enough(its never enough) then buy the other sub later and slap it to 1 ohm
    thats what i might do...

    I have the same problem.

Which would be better. I will be running a xtant 1000.1 on them and want a loud system for daily use and a car show every now and again.

As far as the box I have a caddilac deville and right now I'm not sure how big of a box I can put in it. Both the 18 xxx and the 2 15 se's are going to need at least 6 cu ft in a tune ported box.

    Can any one help?

Anyone? Someone help me make a decision.

It's not a live or death decision but one I am going to need to make with the next week or two when I go ahead and put the finshing touchs on my system.

I don't want to make a wrong choice because I don't plan to change anything out or upgrade for a while, probably a couple years when I purchase a new car.

Please help me with some opinions.

After reading the post about the 15xxx I am really hyped up about them more than ever.

I drive a caddilac deville and will be running a xtant 1000.1 and want to know if 1 18xxx will do what I want it to do. I just upgraded to a yellow top optima and plan to order a 200 alt before installing the amp and subs, deadened the trunk with second skin and cut away metal on the back deck and back seat area to allow the bass to flow.

I would like a loud daily driver with some comps. I would be happy with high 140's. I listen to lots of rap ( lil John, Tupac, Outkast, Jay Z, and some rock like Korn and metallica)

well, i was going to agree...but 1 18XXX would just WANG! and it would only be one sub...plus it's an 18...that is just awesome! that's my suggestion..peace

the reason i voted for 2 SE's is because it would be more Cone area. Also some may say that a 18" wont have that great of SQ. But im sure the XXX will sound great. Its ur choice if u want 1 Huge sub or 2 Big subs Lol. Im not sure of the room necesities of these subs i know 2 15" SE's would need about 6 cubes ported. A 18" XXX would probly do good in the same enclosure as well probly even bigger.

I spoke to some guys today at RE and they said that both set-up will work well a 6 cu ft tuned ported box, the 18xxx at about 30hz and the 15 se's at about 33-34hz.

I will be running a xtant 1000.1 which is rated at 1000 rms but was told that it pushs more like 1200-1300 rms. The 15 se's are rated at 600rms and the 18xxx is rated at 1600 rms.

I thinking that I can't go wrong either way but I'm leaning torwards the 18xxx.

Thanks for the help and I will keep yall posted.
