    what kind of speaker wire for 15" RE XXX

    What guage should I use for a RE XXX with a Hifonics Brutius 1500?

    12-16. If you have some 16AWG wire lying around, just use that, but if you need to buy new wire for it, then go with 12.

    Depends on the power you are sending to it. 12awg is usually sufficient...I used 8 gauge on mine just because people were like dang thats big speaker wire...12 woulda been fine though!

    I use monster cable 12 guage on mine and its great.

    from a brutus 1500 12 gauge Speaker wire is plenty.



    98 Grand Cherokee Limited 5.2L

    H/U: Alpine
    Speakers: Polk 6.5" GXR
    Amp: Hifonics BX1500D
    Subs: 2 12" RE SE's
    Box: Custom 3.3 Cubic foot ported
    Box tuned to 35 Hz
    In The Making: 5.1 cubic foot Box
    Ported to 28 Hz with
    Pluged Port (35 Hz)

    It depends on the distance of amp to sub. The longer it is the bigger the wire you need. 12 sohould be fine unless it is a ways.

    1 ed e12O.44 in a 2ft.^3 sealed box.
    Soundstream RUB500-1 for the sub (400x1 @ 2 ohms)
