1 ported xxx or 2 sealed SEs?

The subject basically says it all. My trunk absolutely ***** and I only have room for 2x sealed SEs or 1 ported XXX (both 12s). I have a Shiva in my car currently and SPL just isn't quite up to par. I want bass I can FEEL . So, which setup should I go for in terms of SPL?

you should try to port the SE's....I have never heard an XXX before, but my 2 12" SE's ported are loud as hell and they only have 3.3 cubes total.

I've heard that the XXX can take a TREMENDOUS amount of power. port the hell out of the box (a switchable port if you like) and give it about 2000W RMS. You won't just feel, your ears might ring for days on end.

Hrm, so XXX is coming out on top for now...I'd port the SEs but my trunk is unbelievably horrible. I doubt 2 10s would even fit ported. SN95 Mustangs=terrible trunk space

then perhaps it's time to go for a sub that has low mounting depth, work great in small enclosures, street cred, etc, etc..

Hey Paikiah who makes eD? Never heard of them.

Single XXX ported is the way to go, tuned low.

I'd get ED As but after shipping, the XXX honestly isn't that much more and from everything I've read, while the EDA is a good driver, the XXX will come out on top overall.

Have you ever used a 1600w hairdryer? 2000w into a speaker will generate at least 1970w of heat. Sound outrageous? Its true.

No thanks...very nice sub but there's no getting around the fact that it's overpriced. I'll take the comparable sub (XXX) and save the cash. I can feel the argument brewing already...

theres always an argument when a w7 is mentioned, it is expensive but i think it is well worth it, i heard a 13w7 ported last week with a jl 1000/1 and its the cleanest sounding bass i've ever heard and it got LOUD.
