    RE XXX 15" subs...ANY GOOD????

    There are so many options out there as far as subwoofers go...I have given up on Orion HCCA subs because of all the people that said how crappy they are. My newest interest is (2) RE Audio's XXX 15" woofer. I found some dual 2 ohm subs on eBay for around $635 (each) shipped. I figured I could run these on a couple of cranked up Rockford Fosgate T10001BD at 1 ohm. I would like any honest opinions on these subs. They will be going into my '62 Coupe DeVille. Ohhhh also what would you suggest as far as a box goes (sealed, slotted, ported, blow-thru back seat...). I want quality as well as loud here.
    Here are some specs that were on the eBay listing:
    * 15" XXX-Series Subwoofer
    * 2000 Watts RMS
    * Dual 2 Ohm
    * Dual Composite 2-Piece Cone
    * Rubber Surround
    * Integrated Gasket
    * Cast Aluminium Basket
    * Tork-Tite Terminals
    * 3" 4-Layer Flatwind Aluminium Voice Coils
    * Split Coil Design
    * VMS Vented Magnet System
    * Dual Progressive Spiders
    * Integrated Tinsel Leads

    * Electrical Q Value -Qes: 0.58
    * Mechanical Q Value -Qms: 3.62
    * Total Speaker Q Value -Qts: 0.501
    * Free Air Resonance -Fs: 19.10 Hz
    * Equivalent Compliance -Vas: 207.0 liters
    * One-Way, Linear Excursion -Xmax: 54 mm
    * Efficiency -SPL 1W/1m: 85.81 dB SPL
    * Effective Piston Area -Sd: 810 cm^2
    * DC Resistance -Re: 4.2 ohm
    * Nominal Impedance -Znom: Dual 2 ohm
    * Thermal Power Handling -Pe: 2000 W
    * Force Factor -Bl: 18.16

    THANKS!
    -Rick

    Very nice speakers. I would try the classifieds here, you might find something along those lines for a bit cheaper. Cool ride

    naa, no good

    check in the classifieds for a much cheaper price for good used ones. but there is nothing wrong with buying new either if you have the dough.

    And btw they would def want alot more than a 1000d each. Look to put 2000-2500 on each one to really get em moving.

    That means plan for electrical uppgrades. Big systems are more than massive subs. Also plan ur mids accordingly. Basically search and read...alot.

    Ohhh yes, I have a very good machinist buddy who I'm gonna have help me build a dual or triple alternator bracket. I have a ton of room under the hood of the Caddy, and am gonna need a lot of power. Also because of the air ride's dual compressors...Lots of 0 gauge in my future. lol. Also, if the T10001BD amps weren't gonna cut it, then two T20001BD would.
    Thanks for the info you guys!! These XXXs are sounding a LOT more promising than the HCCAs.

    Great subs for output and sound quality, for that price I recommend the hertz mille ml3800 15" as well for sq. And if your running the reXXX 15's u might consider a bigger amp, however the t10001bd should be fine cause it's a very underrated amplifier.

    You better make sure you've got enough room for the box.. those things want lots of space.. (ie. a whole trunk for one sub)

    XXX's are garbage dude...I'd recommend either sony or pyle, with a boss amp (and keep your gains low or you'll be replacing your windshield)

    Get a single T4000D and power the pair propperly.

    The way I'm doin it is I'm buying something else every 2 weeks when I get paid, and I won't have $14xx.00 at one time to spend on a BD4000, when I split it into two amps at $750 or so each it's a lot more affordable for me. The 4000 was my original plan til I saw the price tag.
    PLUS, with the only XXXs I can find being dual 2 ohm, I need 2 amps to run 1 ohm and get max power.
