Icon32 Sub options for a lil power now and big later.....

I guess when people talk about effiency, they are refering to hat I'm looking for?

What I want : decent price (prolly not more that $150 per sub), good sq and spl, prolly 10" with ~ .75ft^3 sealed......

I hear some people talk about a certain sub that may only be good for spl, and another that's only good for sq, but I'd like a nice compromise of both.

    I may go with 12's if I get a '00 Celica hatch.

I was looking at Infinity Perfect's, but I think they were only 350 rms, I have 160x1 rms amp now. That would mean I could about double my current power if I got about a 350w amp, but that doesn't sound like such a big jump in amp power....or is it? I'd like to be able to have power to get really loud if I felt like it. Some amp suggestions are welcome too

Just ask if ya need more info

Check out edesignaudio.com and check out the eD K's or possible the O's. Very nice subs, if you have the K powered enough it will bump pretty good. That's what i suggest. If you want to go 200$ you can get a RE SeXXX's. Its a mix between the RE SE and the RE XXX. about 1000 watts rms, not sure peak, but contact TeamPSI about it if you want one.

Depending on how much $$$ you got, check out some of the amps off of edesignaudio.com. You can get some nice amps off there that will power your sub, pretty dang good.

I think their site is down right now....IMO you need a bigger amp with what you want to do, at least 600 watts RMS. What amp do you have right now?

Oh yea, the eD K's are a 50/50 spilt sub, gets loud in small sealed boxes(like you wanted) and sounds good doing it.

I have two older Alpine 3548's now. They are 160x1 @ 4 ohm.....gota find out if they can do 2 ohm. So each sub would get it's own amp and 160w.

Got a question about ED. They recomend a single 800.2 amp to run two 12O's. They say the amp is only like 200x2 but bridges to 800x1 and they recomend runing it bridged. So I guess both subs would run off one channel.....but they both wouldn't recieve 800w would they?

    800 watts
    ------------ = 400 watts per sub

bridging the amp puts out 800 watts RMS, but divided by 2 subs. So each one sees 400 watts.

Ok, that's basically what I was guessing. I wonder if the K's could handle that 800.2 amp....hhhmmm....

Do you have your system up and running? I just ask because you have the questions marks out beside your box design. I'd like to get a 1st hand opinion on how that setup sounds
