What are u looking for though? SQ or SPL? IIRC the 15 will get lower than the 12s, but it wont get as loud.

Re: One 15" or two 12"s

The 12's will play just as low as the 15. It's all in the enclosure. If you have enough space, power, and the extra cash to get the 2 12's then that's what I would do. You could look at the AudioQue 1200, Sundown 1500, Kicker 1500, Rockford 1500... their are really alot of good amp's out there.

What is your budget? I would say 2 12's unless space is an issue.

If you have cash for a killer 15 i would get that, simply because i like 1 sub set ups.

Re: One 15" or two 12"s

money is kind of an issue. i can get the 12's for 105 each online (shipping?) i would like to try to stay under 700, maybe just a tad over if it is absolutely necessary. i was thinking 2 12's and a ported box, im pretty sure i have the room for it (38 x 18 x 14 max space). however if one 15' with a good ported box and a good amp will get pretty loud and be cheaper than i can roll with that.

Re: One 15" or two 12"s

It may be car dependent as to whether the two 12's are better or the single 15. In my truck, I couldn't get the 12's as loud as I could get the single 15.

Maybe I didnt read it right the first time but I didnt notice that your choices between the 2 12" Type R's and 1 15" type R. The 2 12's should be louder but they will both sound good. I read another post from you I think that said you were going with one 12" though, is that correct?

Re: One 15" or two 12"s

yeah, i need to stay inside my budget and right now one 12" makes more sense. i might be able to add another in the future. if i bought an amp, box, and 12" sub right now, in the future could i buy another sub, amp and box and just plug it in as well? i guess what im asking is if i have two of the same set ups would it be the same as 2 12"s in the same box with a bigger amp driving them both?
