    WTF is blowing my subs??

all right this is my second setup thats had this same problem.... First time 2 AA assassins with a US amps XT4000d( i know not great) gain set correctly no bass boost and just one day one of the 2 subs stops working, no voice coil burning smell, no tinsels burnt up no visual damage what so ever.... so i end up buying 2 DD1508s and a SAZ 1500d, set the gain a little lower than it should be, SAME THING HAPPENS 1 of the subs just stops working all together, other is running fine.

this makes no sense to me at all that just 1 of the subs will blow while the other is fine. anyone have any input on wtf could be happening?

set correctly as in not maxxed out like a majority of people coming in here saying OH WHY DID IT BLOW,

    square root (800*2) = 40volts

as such while playing the 50hz tone set it to about 36Volts to because they had enough output there and even lower less chance of clipping unless im mistaken there?

well they didnt sound like they were clipping, sounded perfect imo no distortion or anything to dislike about them then just one stopped..... it could be the headunit only thing with that is this is a different headunit then in the first case, oh well WTB another DD1508

did you pull the sub out and check it. Maybe you got a bad connections somewhere. Those subs should be able to handle the power. Unless you are just pushing them too hard.

Re: WTF is blowing my subs??

that *****. I'd recommend setting the sub gains after all the front speakers are set. That way you can just match the output of the sub to the fronts to get a nice blend.

this wouldn't help much with the bassheads

Is the box completely sealed? Are they sharing one chamber or separates? How bad is the voltage drop when your bass hits?
