Re: Completley new to car audio and need help

If it's me, first thing I look at is how clean the install is. If it's a very ****** wiring job, then pay closer attention than normal, assuming he's a ******* and he hooked it up himself...

Look to make sure both woofers are moving in the same direction at the same time. In other words, look at both of the subs at once, make sure they're both moving in or out together, and make sure they're moving the same amount.

Also, listen to the subs themselves for rattle when they hit

That's the most simple way to take a look. Also ask the kid about where he purchased the items and how long they've been used

i'd say just make sure the amp doesn't cut out at higher volumes.

Re: Completley new to car audio and need help

If the amp turns on, that's a good sign, not joking. Even if you end up having probs with the amp but it's running, it's not usually something too major. Advice above is all good. If you can, have him take out the subs from the box to see the whole sub and check for any physical damage.
