an ed K in a ported box, about 1.25 cu ft, tuned to about 28-30hz, powered by an alpine mrp-m350?

What size K? 10" or 12"? Be sure to get it in its DVC configuration.
That amp does ~350 RMS x 1 @ 2ohms, so it should work well.

what about the box. how do k's sound ported?
I think that you would be happy. You could even go up to 1.5ft^3 if you wanted - though, 1.25 would work.

oh yeah, how much SQ/accuracy do K's lose when ported as to sealed?
Not a lot, they'll still impress you I'm sure.Originally posted by AScreenName

does this mean the the lpf is centered at 50 hz or just doesnt play anything above 50 hz or play anything below 50 hz?

well i just looked and it has a crossover that can be centered from 50 hz to 200 hz with a 24db slope, how's that a really bad thing?
most amps that i've seen have a 40-200hz(or around that) crossover and have typically a 12-14 db slope. and i try not to have my crossover slope set on 40 hz because although it sounds like it puts out more bass, the higher bass notes dont get played and sounds kinda gay. i have mine set on 60hz right now cause the higher ones still have some emphasis and the low ones still pound.
I own one of the craziest digital processors ever built, having a choice of 24, 36, or 72 dB per octave slopes and only a couple lousy points to choose from. Believe me, I understand your frustration.Originally posted by Jmac
