2.19321 Cubic Feet good for IDMAX ?

Hey guys, i have a sealed box with volume off 2.19321. I wanna give my friend it to run his IDMAX 12" in, he jus gonna use it to break in his sub. Each coil is gonna see about 180W rms of US Amps power

This volume is after speaker displacement, is this good enough or is it too big ?

that should be ok. its a little big for the max but it will still sound good. dont expect it to get 2 loud with only 360 watts though. keep the gains down and it should be fine.

btw you could have just said 2.2 cubes...

Well i wanted to be precise

It's a US Amps 4300 my friend is gonna use, bridging each channel per coil.
That amp is way underrated. He's just using it to break it in before putting his 2000X on them

I've read a few times on teh forum that it's not advisable to have the sub in any sort of enclosure for breaking in. You need to have the sub in a free-air setup.

Well he doesn't have equipment to break it in free-air.

Isn't another way of breaking-in, is by playing them at lower volumes or power ?
Jus to get the suspension and surround loosened up ?

It all depends on who you believe. Jlaine does not believe in breaking-in period. Kicker's manual says you should.

If you do wanna break it in, some say play normal music at a decent level, nothing considered too loud, just to get the subs moving somewhat.

Well this guy swears by breaking-in, so he's gonna play normal music at a level just to get the sub moving
