how much money do you have to spend on them? Are you gonna do a ported custom box? or are you gonna buy a prefab box?

i really dont want to build a box, so i was thinking sealed prefab, and money doesnt really matter, as long as its not tooo much, lol say, like a limit of 2 grand for subs amps, but please give me the really expensive, mid ranged, and low range and compare em... i just wanna get the best for the least amount of money.... but like i said, money aint that big of a problem... but id like to keep it kinda cheap if possible.

Also look into Shocker products, Kove Armageddons, MMATS Juggy, CV Stroker, and even the MTX RFL(only if you don't want this for a daily driver).

    Local dealer

He said he'd like to get it from a local dealer. I've never seen Kove at MY local dealer, lol.

First, if your going all SPL, you'll probably want to go ported not sealed, just so you know. My suggestion would be 2 Cerwin Vega Stroker 15's with whatever amp (or amps) in your price range to power them.

BUT, since your limited to local dealerships, I can almost guarantee you there's a Kicker dealer around you. Get 2 Kicker L7 15's ported if you can fit them in your car, if not just get one. You can power than off of the Kicker 1200.1. That's alot of boom right there. Few "amateur" systems would be able to keep up with that. Heck, I've got two 10" L7's in a SEALED box that people are having trouble keeping up with.

I'm still partial to the Strokers for SPL if you can find them locally, but I will always bow down to the King DD!!

I'm never wrong, EVER! Just ask me.

exactly. so what brands do your local shops carry?

I'm feelin the custom ported box idea for an L7 or two. That would bang. You should try to build your own, though. Either that or find a local dealer who will do one for you. Or even just some guy you know. Ask around.

    Audiobahn has GREAT SPL.....

    2 12" Flame Q's (Offline around 300 for both)
    2 JBL 1200.1 (275 offline)
Sealed Box from anywhere with as many cubes as possible.

That system right there would be SPL out the @$$. My friend has 2 10" flame q's with 1 jbl 1200.1 in a sealed box and DAM* it is loud. Get that system if you want SPL, You wont be dissappointed. I know someone else with these and they shake the hell out of my car when he drives by.

P.S.- I know you wanted your local store, but I really think you should consider offline, it will be cheaper.

would 2 10" power hx2's and a single jbl 1200.1 on a single ohm load suffice? if i got the dual 4 ohm voice coils i could wire it to one ohm right?

also, would i need a new alternator for just one of these amps?

I would recommend you get a couple 12's or 15's. The cone area will make a huge difference in terms of SPL. Do you like the way those subs sound? I personally don't. And if you're gonna do something for SPL purposes, there are better brands for better prices, for instance, DD, Audiobahn, or Treo. (well, I guess you might pay a bit more sometimes, but you'll get a LOT more SPL)
