I ripped my stereo out of my truck this weekend, and the truck will be getting a stereo overhaul once im back in state this coming august (i leave next week)
Anyways, i've been throwing some ideas around and wanted to get some opinions from y'all.
I think i have everything pretty much figured out except the substage. The amp i'll be working with is an Autotek mm4000.1 (4000RMS @ 2ohms). Anyways, the two options im working with are two 18's (BTLs, RE MT's, AQ HDC 18's, or somthing similar), or four 15's (RE SX's, Fi Q's, Type-R's).
I know that 4 15's will have more cone area, but in order to me to do the 15's the face of the box will have to be angled, whereas with 18's it would be a standard rectangular box (like in my avatar)
Im worried that angling the subs at each other may cause cancellation, but i dont know much about angling subs at each other (hence, why im posting for opinions)
This is what i mean by angling the box (this isnt to specs, though, and the cutouts wont be as big as the holes in this image)
and this is what the box for the 18's would be like:
