    got my new 15 L7

got my L7 yesterday and i was wondering what freq. should the enclosure be tuned for maximum spl. this will be a daily driver, but if it gets super loud i may compete at a local shop this summer. I WANT IT SUPER LOUD, but i dont want it to distort on the lows. i ordered a subsonic filter today for my jbl 1200. i cant wait to hear how loud it gets.

oh i have enough room for about 4 cubes. im having the guys at a local shop build the box. im paying $200(ouch, but it was the cheapest i could find) for the box so i want to make sure im happy with the tuning freq.

    thanks

if you can get your money back for that box do it..****,you can build 20 boxes for that price. I'd go for a box tuned around 33-35 hz.

Build the box yourself...it takes an hour or 2 and $30 to do so...

For maximum SPL, unless you want to find the resonant frequency of your car, which will take a little more money/time, tune it to the high 30's-low40's

ported is just a tad bit harder than sealed, some dont realize that. takes a little more knowledge, time and effort. Dont think your first box has to be sealed.. I'll build u a custom 4 cu ft box tuned to what u like carpeted and all for under $100. And you, yourseld can do it for cheaper..

I believe all it is is the length and the cubic area of the port which tunes it. many peopl eon here to help just ask
