the subsonic frequency doesn't burn up the coil. a SSF is to attenuate the given freq. and below. reason to use this is because in a ported box, when a driver plays below the tuning freq, the cone gets out of control and leads to mechanical damage(s). as long as the sub doesn't look like its gonna pop in front of your face, then it should be good..but i still rather be safe from the start.

oo man....that late. I'm about to sell my system to a friend and order all new stuff ( the 2 12 SE's, an amp, and a box). So I wont have a system for however long it takes for this thing to arrive. You think it's worth the wait?

what do you think? Should I get a JBL 1200.1 and put the 2 12 SE's in a sealed box or wait for the Nine.1 to come out and put the 2 12" SE's in a ported box? I'm gonna have these subs for 2 more years so I think I am willing to sacrifice, but in your opinion what would you do?

hm... i just using FMODS and a ported box. If you really want to get them in there buy a 1200.1 and then sell it when the ED comes out. Right now my feeling towards my system is there are other things that need to be worked on, so i would have time to wait for an amp. But, i have had times where I NEED IT IN, and cant wait, so then ide go for the 1200.1.
