    Physics of subwoofer enclosures

Does anyone know a good site that gives the physics of a subwoofer enclosure. I know what soundeach type of enclosure produces and what about it makes it that way, but I'm not sure about the physics of it. For example I can guess that a ported box makes a forcefull bass because the soundwaves from the back of the speaker bounce around until it is forced out of the port. (how much that is true I have no idea). Any help would be appreciated
