1 15" Rockford Power Stage 1 (ported) or 2 JL 12w6v2's (sealed)?

Heres my dilemma:

I have 2 12 w6v2's sealed 1.25 per/ch. They lack the loud deep bass of my old setup, however the overall SQ is excellent, just lacking in the deep end.

Im thinking of going with a RF Power S1 15 Ported which will be given 600w rms.

Im wondering if this would give me what im looking for. Ive never had a ported enclosure, Im just looking to gain more "deep" bass and keep most of the SQ.


Currently I have a PCX 2200 for the sub. 400x2 @ 2ohms, 800w @ 4ohms bridged.

make a bigger sealed enclosure for the JL's if sq is the primer goal...it should add to the deep bass extention

Well my last setup was 2 12" RF Punch HX2's with the same PPI amp. It had HUGE deep bass output compared to the JL's. They didnt hit every note like the JLs though. I just dont think I can achieve the same lows with the JLs

I would try those ported.

The W6's only objective is SQ. That's all they do. I used to run one on a Kicker 400.1 and loved the quality hated the output

I would consider a FI Q or something of that nature, you can get the min the larger subs, maintain a strong SQ and get a lot more output

Ported Fi Q is my suggestion

Agreed. Keep the JL's, build a new box. It won't cost much to try it.
