    most spl on stock alt

ok...i was thinkin the xxx for a while, but i dont really wanna drop an extra $350-$400 on a new alt and battery. what can i get the most spl out of at about 1000 watts, running an optima yellow-top battery? id rather have 12s than 15s but im still undecided. the biggest box i can go is about 4 cu ft. what subs should i look into?

I would say w7....but thats kinda pricey, mabey look at a brahma, or I know a lot of people are very happy with edk's. You would prob. be ok running something like a jbl 1200.1 on that alt., or just about any 1000 watt amp that is fairly effeicent.

I'm back to stock in my new car.....

id like to compete in the stock class for spl if that helps at all. i dont know if ed's are spl subs, but they look tempting. also im 16 so i dont really have $ for something like a w7. i got $450 max for subs, and about the same for an amp, but ill figure that out once i decide on the speakers.

would 2 12" a's or a single xxx be louder? and if its the xxx- is the difference worth $200 for an alt?

go w/ a 15" HC. That'll pound. (i should be getting mine tomorrow ). 4 cubes ported.. hmmmm, i've heard that an XXX should have around 6-8 cubes, but i think it would still perfom very well in the 4 cubes.

A brahma would also do Very well, and so would various other subs. look @ the classified forum, there are some good subs for cheap. and ther is one 15" HC for 225 bucks i think (from v8s10, thread is "whole system for sale" or something like that).
