you have a high output box, but say its too big, you probably have to go bigger for more SPL, or to increase the efficiency of the enclosure.
If you have that amp driving the sub its seeing something like 260 watts, more power is in order here.

I was gonna recomend sealed but you would need 1k to get it loud in 1.5 cubes sealed.

maybe sell the box that you have it in, its not gonna get too much louder ported in another design but someone out there might have a more efficent ported box design.???

edited sig I have about 5-600 watts to it right now. It's loud but I need to change the enclosure anyway due to dimensions.

Re: JL 12W7 vs. Enclosure for 92 accord wagon

Get a true thousand watts to it because in my moms 96 honda wagon I had put in a 12w7 in a 2.25 cube net box tuned to 32 with an alpine pdx 1000.1 and it would shake my neighbors house. She didn't like all the bass now she the pdx 1000.1 on to 10w6. The w7s in my uncles crewcab f350 and it shakes his windshield wipers and his back window area waves the door wave in and out its pretty radical. I say build a box to my specs and if that doesn't work go get a true thousand watt amp.

Re: JL 12W7 vs. Enclosure for 92 accord wagon

i'm picky about equipment. I want a memphis belle so i don't have mismatched amps or more then 1 object drawing big current. But the prob is thats a 1ohm mono also. The 12W7 is a 3ohm which kinda sux. I'm trying to sell My MMATS 4 channel to fund my craze. I know i need another enclosure. An if i go with sealed in need more power like 1200-1500 watts if i stay ported the 1000 would work. i'm looking for another 12W7 so i can get to a 1.5 ohm load. i looked for ACCUMATCHes but none made anymore.

Sealed or ported I'm trying not to go broke but I may have to get another 12W7.
