    sub cut out but doesn't seem blown??

    my type-r was playin fine for bout 5 mins then jus cut out. at first i thought the amp overheated or somthin but then i checked it and it was fine. i took out the sub checked all the wires seem to be fine, didn't make any kinda scrapin noise or nething. i had it runnin on 300 rms witht he gain a lil over half.??

    ahh jus hooked it up to my home reciever and still nothin, is the sub scrapped?

    Are you sure that the wire that runs from the speaker cone to the speaker terminal didn't melt? another problem that you may have is a bad wire contact. Try hooking the sub back up to your home system and moving the wires that run from the speaker terminal to the cone. The connection of these wires may be bad at the terminal or at the cone. I'm not sure how you would fix it at the cone. I had this problem with a sub that I have. How long have you had the subs? ARe they still under warrantY? Try this test let me know what happens.

    whoa. ok well i hooked it back up to the home reciever and moved the wires around, nothin. then i put a AA battery up to the wires from the sub and the cone moved? does this mean its not blown?

    Hmm.. this is weird. It doesnt work with an audio signal but it still moces with a battery hooked to it. Hmm...I dont whats wrong with it. Since it moved with the battery try hookin it back up to the home reciever. If it still doesnt work then I dont know what to tell ya.

    the amp is an ma-audio and the sub is a type-r, i hooked up the sub to my home reciever jus to see if it was the sub and it didn't move.

    ok, good and confusing news. i woke up and decided to try and hook my sub back up in my car jus to see what would happen. i turn on the car and it plays like nothin ever happened, wtf. im not complainin but wtf? neone know what coulda happened?
