Kicker L7 15 inch, ported or sealed?

Right now my Kicker 15 inch L7 is in a 5 cubic foot box, and on some songs...it sounds amazing but on the songs where like 5 bass notes are in a 2 second span it sounds like ***.... I was just wondering how do the L7's sound sealed? I know right off the bat they are meant to be ported... but just wanted some pro opionions because I have never heard a sealed 15 inch L7 before...

Right now rating the SPL and SQ on my 5 cubic box... would be to me....

SQ between 6.5 and 7
SPL: 9 to 9.5

i dont know. mine sounds pretty great in a lot of verieties of music. mines just in the kicker ported box but it hits great on a bunch of double pedal rock stuff and bows my windows on the hard rap hits.

It will be hard to get great sq from a L7. Mine sounded better in a bigger box and tuned lower but it still didn't have the transient response of something like a w6.
