Need info on the tuning of 10" CVR

    http://cgi.ebay.com/KICKER-05TCVR10-...QQcmdZViewItem

I've been looking at this combo for some time now, and earlier i read it is tuned to 47 hertz. That seems pretty high. I listen to rap and rock, but will that be tuned low enough to sound good with rap?

Btw, im in a 93 nissan pickup so ported truck boxes of that size are hard to come by unless i build it myself, but 100 bucks for sub and ported box isnt too steep for me if it'll at least sound good.

Re: Need info on the tuning of 10" CVR

    A) You're looking at $125 total after factoring in the shipping charges
    B) If you were to buy from Crutchfield you could get a pair of '07 CVR 10s for $130/shipped with a valid manufacturer's warranty

Were I you I would spend 5 more bux and go with a pair of BNIB subs that carry a full warranty over New Old Stock (as the one you linked to is obviously an '05 model sub) with a 30-day warranty or whatever that there's no guarantee that it will be honored should something happen.

Spend another $20 beyond that for a sheet of MDF and build your own box.

That would be what I would do at any rate...

Re: Need info on the tuning of 10" CVR

i know i could do all that. all im saying is that i've been working wayyyy more than usual and i dont have time, however i would be willing to spend a bit extra. really all im trying to find out right now is if 47hz is a bit too high for rap.

47 hz is hella high for rap. Do some searchin and find time to build your own box. it'll work and sound alot better.

Re: Need info on the tuning of 10" CVR

meh. figures. what about mixing 2 diff subs. get the dual 2 ohm model and hook it up to one channel of my amp at 4 ohms, then my 10" jl w1(4 ohms) in its sealed box to the other. that way the low is good with the jl and the higher bass is better with the sealed...or is that just stupid ? lol.
