What Size Speaker Wire for Mids/Highs

I am curious about what size speaker wire would be sufficient enough for a component set and a set of coaxials all connected to a pair of x-overs? I have found 16-awg but was wondering if smaller would be okay.

16 is good ... 18 would work. or if you want to got to a bigger wire you could go 14 but thats over kill i guess... stick with 16.

Im runnin 14 guage to all my speakers right now since I rewired everything. But when I first got my subs and amp I wanted to keep the damping factor up on my amp so I ran 10 guage wire to my subs . Ive since changed that tho cuz I found that 14 guage sounds better to me, dont ask me why I dont know, maybe the reduced the amplifier damping factor . Ne way 14-18 guage would be fine.
