Icon32 What were your first system setup u ever had??

What was your first system setup u had? (Subs, amps, processors, crossovers, Head unit..ETC ETC)... The very first system setup I had was 2 12" Jlw3s in a 1.92ft3 sealed box with a Phoenix Gold qx 900.1 and Kendwood Kdc-4019...I kept this setup a good little while like 2 years or so..I didnt really like the setup..wasnt loud enough for me and I had a few problems with the w3s..Such as the dustcap popping off and tinsel threads popping off...Mainly due to distortion..I couldnt leave those gains a loe...lol....Well post your first setup!!

Very first setup...couple old ghetto 15" JBL's, an old AKAI amp pushing them...along with hmmm a Clarion head unit and some JBL speakers. Had a 4" and a tweeter in each door with something else in the back doors..I forget now though...that was a long time ago.

Pioneer 3400 h/u with a pair of 12" MTX 4000's in a sealed box with 1.25^3ft per sub, and a RF 400s amp. Funny cuz my subs werent great but they were in a good box, and had no air leaks...sounded better than aloooooot of kids at my school, and only cost me $300 in total.

Actually I still have the same MTX amplifier from my first setup, just because it is so underrated. But my deck was a two-post jensen tape deck with terrible old pioneer 6x9's, and a pair of MTX thunder 4000 12"s in a 2.5 cuft one chamber box. It sounded good to my virgin car audio ears, but now with the Type-R, 5.25 components and Sony cd deck, I am so glad I found this site and learned the ways of the jedi.

two 12" Alpine Type R's in a prefab sealed box, with around 400W going to each from two alpine MRD-M300's. It was great.

Pair of Wal-Mart Jensen bass cannons, a blue 2 channel jensen amp (non-bridgable), a pyramid low-pass crossover, a jensen head unit (the one with the light-up blue knob that always breaks) and a pair of 6x9's (you guessed it, they were jensen too!). I also bought an Audio Art 70.2 amp to run the 6x9's, but it never got installed until i changed the setup again....I still have and use this amp and consider it my best investment ever.

    Oh, the memories.

Panasonic 830 EUC HU, 10" pioneer "300W printed on cone" in a Best Buy bandpass box, jensen "250W" printed on the amp... I think it had a 15 gauge fuse in it, left the factory speakers in for a while, then replaced them with the GTOs that I still have and a set of Vega Stealth series (which I still have, but one of them was buzzing which made me replace them with the vega series).

That crap got stolen, but I guess I hadn't had the time to learn much because I ended up getting the 930EUC, 12" vega 124 (somewhat of an upgrade), 12" version of that **** bandpass box, and the same amp... the speakers weren't stolen.

The car sat in the driveway for most of 4 years while I went to college out of state, the amp was dead (condensation probably rusted it out - replaced with USX) but, unfortunately, that bandpass box only had some mildew in the corner and otherwise worked fine. HU was given away to a friend whos sister had been using a cassette adapter and a portable cd player, waiting for my ported box to arrive (any day now).

97 VW Jetta - building a system from parts in my old 85 Jetta
HU: Pioneer P740MP with 12 disc changer
Front: 3.5" JBL GTO302s in dash
5.25" Cerwin Vega Vega Series 502s in door
    Amped: US Acoustics USX-2050 @ 2 ohm

    Rear: Stock components
Sub: Single 12" Vega 124 in a cheap bandpass box
    Sub Amp:US Acoustics USX-2150 bridged
