    What would be better?

Say you were making a box for 4 12's, but ported. Now it says recommended cubic feet is about 1.3.
Would you make one big open box (single chamber) or make 4 seperate chambers with their own ports a 1.3 cubic feet each?

Or would you make one single chamber and a big port for all 4 subs?

Im thinking of going with a single chamber and one big port.. Less money..
But if im proven that 4 seperate chambers is louder than ill do that.

The single chamber will likely be louder, but wont be as good on the subs, and will be harder to tune accurately. Its your call. I myself would do separate chambers.

i'd do a single chamber, but u gotta put alot of bracing if ur gonna use 4 12's... but as previously stated, this is gonna be stressful to ur subs as opposed to multiple chambers

Why would it be so hard on the subs?

in seperate chambers you don't have the force of the other subs air that is being constantly pushed and pulled pushing on the other woofers. basically in seperate chambers they all have sep. air to use and compress, while all in 1 they use all the same air and don't always hit at the exact same time which could cause the woofers to become slightly off balance. i dont' know how that hurts em i just know that what i have been told it does.

    Hmm...
    I dunno...
I mean my box now with the 4 12's is nice but its really on the distorted side for me :/
I dont like the sound of it, but its extremely loud, i cant be in the car for more than 5 minutes..

So i was thinking of the 4 seperate chambered box with all subs pointing in the same directions as opposed to facing towards eachother in my box i have now.
