I need help with XXX subs.

I recently purchased a 12" XXX sub. It has 4 voice coils as you probably know. Can be ran at .25, 1 or a 4 ohm load.
I was planning on buying another XXX off of a guy, but i was just informed tonight that it was made with only 2 coils instead of the 4, so that it would be comp. legal. He was not sure if it was 2 or 4 ohms. My amp is a JBL 1200.1 and its 1 ohm stable.

I need to know if there is anway that i would be able to use these subs as they are, with one sub having 4 VC's and the other only having 2.

Also, what is the lowest class the 4 VC subs are allowed in in competition?

I would say that you should go with 4 VC's, dont know the lowest class that they are allowed in, but it gives you more options, course if your amp is 1 ohm stable then 2 would do just fine.

Would i be allowed to run a sub that is origannly a 4 VC sub, but converted to a DVC sub?
Will i have to send the sub back to RE and would it be expensive?

doesn't matter what something originally was, it just matters what it is. With a QVC sub you are automatically in Super Street, that is the lowest class that you can be in. I would go with the DVC if i were you...

In the process of building an enclosure for 2 12" Magnum D2's... should be fun :thumbsup

Hell, you can run it, then dispute it later. If people run Modded amps in Street, you can run an altered sub.
