I'm rethinking my main idea, what 12" is very good and what amp do you think is good to power it. I'm putting a 250 limit on the sub and amp. I want to spend no more than 500 in those two things. THanks for the help.

u can get an L7 12 and put it in a huge ported box 199 at etronics.com, then u could get a jbl 600.1

yes as corsica and ss stated i would go with either an Elemental K, RE SE or Adire Shiva. any of those will run nicely if your gonna go L7 do that puppy a favor and put it in about a 4-4.5cuft ported box with at least 600watts to it. if you find one on the net for like 200 then why not spend 300 on the amp and get a jbl1200.1??

If you like MTX (which I really don't) you could get a Thunder 8000 12, or also an Infinity Perfect 12 would be a good choice. They can both be had for around 200 on etronics. As for the amp, I would get a small class D amp, such as a Planet Audio P850D which is around $230 at cardiscountstereos.
