    type r's wit 400rms?

    has anyone used type'rs with 400rms between two of them?
    how does it sound? do you think i could beat jl wo's as far as loudness goes?
    both in 12's.

    400w is not enuf power....get at least a 600w amp

    400W is plenty of power, in my opinion. I had 2 that had a little over 400 going to each in a sealed box and they hit more than anyone my age would ever need. Trust me, 400 is enough. If you want, though, you could go higher, but 400 will do you fine.

    If it's between the two of them, then that means each one is getting 200rms...and I've heard that's not enough to get them to pound. So yea, you might wanna find a 600w amp, maybe a JBL BP600.1 for about $200 or so...

    oh woops, my bad. i thought you meant 400 to each. YEAH, buy a bigger amp dude. 400 to both is not enough.

    True, a buddy of mine is running a pair of type-s 12's and is sending them each 400w rms...sound incredible for what they are. Quite impressive...
