dual 2 or dual 4 ohm?

so i was looking at elemental K's and they have 2 versions. the dual 2 ohm and the dual 4 ohm drivers. i plan to run 2 subs at 1 ohm w/ a JBL 1200.1. so which one would be better for my situation??

if u want to run them at 1ohm, then u would need DVC 4 ohms. Both coils in parallel, and then parallel the subs. so 4ohms || 4ohms = 2ohms for each sub. then parallell between subs for a 1 ohms resistance.

check out my website, n go to links, the Basic Car Audio link has pics in it for better visualization.

Probably enough so that you wouldnt have to upgrade your alternator.

i don't think you can run dual 4 ohms in 2 ohms if u wanna run both of the subs at the same time. you can run them at 2 ohms separately tho.

also, u should take into account the current draw, i am not sure the specs of the elementals, but i 'll trust Jmac n run the subs at 2 ohm(get dual 2 ohms) since

    "The JBL BP1200.1 puts out 1325ish watts @ 1 ohm, 1300ish watts @ 2 ohms, and 650ish watts @ 4 ohms ..."

there'sn't much difference in watts, but at 1 ohm it will probably draw more current than at 2 ohms.

Just stuff u have to think about, if i were u i'll just go for dual 2 ohms and run them at 2 ohms. I m not sure if u still have to upgrade alternator, but people will advice u on that. good luck
