    wiring

    ok my friend has got a 12 inch brahma dual 2ohm and then he has a mtx 81000d amp, right now he's got one side of the amp + to one side of the sub + and then the - to the - on the same side of the sub and then on the other side of the amp he's got one + to the other + on the other side of the sub then the - on that side of the amp to the - side of the sub, i was thinking since the amp is mono wouldnt that be wired down to 1ohm???or is it 4ohm???

    did he wire it parallel or did he wire it series? If he wired it series then it would be 4 ohm, and if he wired it parallel then it would be 1 ohm. However, the 81000D is not stable at 1 ohm, it goes into protection after about 2-3 minutes. So about the only way he would be able to do that is to wire it 4 ohm.



    In the process of building an enclosure for 2 12" Magnum D2's... should be fun :thumbsup
