I know Tc builds all of Eclipse's stuff and its useally pretty **** close to the same thing. SO whats the diffrence between these 2 subs besides 200 dollers. Why woudlent i just get the 2x eclipse for the same price if not cheaper then 1 lms4000.

I can't answer any of these questions, and I ask that you refrain form asking more of such. You can email me if you want at support at tcsounds dot com (not typed out to prevent spam). It’s nothing personal, I’m excited you have interest in these kinds of drivers. As they do progress more and more into the market people will realize the distortion advantages, but we try and keep OEM customer relationships private.
I can say the LMS-4000 just got a major revision this weekend and you can read about it here:
Now called the LMS-4000 V2

Sorry dont mean to step on any toes or anything. Whens this new LMS4000v2 comming out. and when can i get a 15? and how much will it be for a 12/15 if i preorder tommrow?
~400 for the 12
~500 for the 15
you'll have to wait at least 6 weeks for the sub to arrive, maybe sooner.
we're not taking preorders just yet.
when are you taking preorders and when will you know a date of when its shipping? and does that say its 40 mm xmax 1 way? How much wattage and how big of a box are we talking about for a sealed 15
difficult to say right now, most aliguments dont get the linear coils correct, we'll have to actaully build test boxes for entire accuracy.
6-8 cubic feet sealed would not be out of the question.
i feel this convo should be had at the tc forum
80
trying to kleep peace and sanity
so its gonna be like the RLS to big to be practical for Caraudio use. Should i just stick with a tc3000
Yeah
It doesn't matter how beautiful your theory is, it doesn't matter how smart you are. If it doesn't agree with experiment, it's wrong. - Richard Feynman
Well since it will have the DVC option, it makes it somewhat more practical for car use. Still needs a huge box for it to perform to its optimum.
Are you sure?
Actually, quite the opposite. It called for a slightly smaller box than the first LMS-4000.
I believe the T/S are posted. The Q is 0.4’ish which would allow the for a 3-4 cubic foot box for the 12” without a problem. The interesting thing about the linear coil opposed to a non linear coil is the Q of the driver does not increase as the voltage increases, in other words, most drivers overcompensate with lower Q because of the nonlinear Bl over displacement relationship, but the linear coil remains very constant so this is not a problem.
Beefing up the motor means it will work in a smaller box contrary to what you may think.

if you haven't already.....I believe there is a thread awaiting your response

Why? Its an audio related question, no reason the guy cant ask it.
If the TC Sounds guys dont like the topic, they can just stay out of it.
Thats one of the pitfalls of having manufacturers active on the forums...LOTS of benefits to it, but in situations like this.......
Basically, the OP should be able to ask whatever he wants, I dont see anything wrong with the question.
Or, I could sum it up by saying: I agree with Squeak.
