Is this sub worth getting? and if it is would this amp run 2 of them with plenty of power http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/Pi...,21383,00.html

This PRS-X320 amp only runs 100x2 at 2 Ohms. the subs have a 400 watt RMS. that is only 1/4 the power. The GM-X962 has much more power, but i have heard that the premier amps are way underrated. what would be the problem with the GM-X962?

So if 1 puts out 400 watts RMS then i would need 4 of them to power each sub to the full RMS amount. Or could i just use 2 and put out enough power to all 4. I want these to bump really hard and i want all of the suggestions i can get.

I would like to have an all pioneer system
i am going to use a custom fiberglass box made to fit my trunk, and it will be ported.
do u think that pioneer subs that im gettin are crappy?

I have considered the premiers but not the TS-W12PRS. They are way too expensive.
If i get a premier amp then i will most likey get the TS-W1241DVC subs(4 of them) im hoping that i can be heard from a great distance. That is why i want a ported box instead of sealed.
with the premier subs do you think that i will have a good loud clean sound?

i found a premier amp for 334$ on ectronics.
ive been looking at this sub http://www.etronics.com/product.asp?...=piotsw1241dvc
when it says sealed subwoofer does that mean that it should only be run in a sealed box and nothing else.
ive also heard in this forum that if you make a precise enough ported box that it can make just as clean as sound as a sealed box but it will put out more power and boom
is that true?

i have a poted jbl subwoofer in my living room(12 ") and this thing hits hard as hell and has very clean sound for a ported. my friend has a fusion sub in a sealed box(now has 4 of them and it is loud as hell) and he said that the jbl sounded as good as his fusion. I figured that i could use the same type of idea as the jbl box and use it for my subs.
this is my reason for wanting a ported box so bad.
i was wonderin if homeaudio subs and car audio subs are the same or are they different?

you know, things like that pioneer amps that are underrated that much is not could. If you had an amp that was rated at 400 and put out 850 then you could VERY easily blow your subs by putting too much power to them without even knowing it.Originally posted by Jmac
K, so you're getting 4 or 2 ? LOL, you're confusing me
Anyways, if you're getting 4 of them, then I'd recommend the PRS-X720 ... puts out close to 850 RMS @ 4 ohms
