Which would be better for my JBL 1200.1? I know the Brahma is a ****** but would the two e12kd4's be just as good and save me $100?

for SPL, i'd take the E12K's. for Sound quality, i'd take the E12K's also![]()

Thanks, that seems good enough for me.
You think the K's sound better than the Brahma? That's the first time I've ever heard that.Originally posted by GSteg

Is this not a reasonable place to park?
from 130-ish DB and below, the brahma wins. over that..the k's take over, but only in a small margin.Originally posted by Mark_ab

at high volumes, the brahma would have a harder time to keep up in SPL. while that, the K's will have more cone area so they can play as loud without stressing themselves out.

I don't agree with your thought process.
How often do you drive around listening to 130db+ music?

*slaps his head*
Who let Mark out without medicating him?! Now we're in for it! lol.
I'm with Mark on this one tho... the only reason I could possibly see the K's being even considered better is teh superior low-end response of teh dual 12's...
not in overall sound quality mind you, but in that aspect alone...
very often. you might not, but i know plenty of people who do so.Originally posted by Mark_ab

Well I'm intelligent enough to value my hearing. In 10 years my ears will be fine. If you drive around listening to 130+ constantly, your ears won't be.

i don't drive around (i can't anyways) but my school is only 5 minutes away so 130db for 5 minutes isn't much. listening to anything at moderate level will be just as dangerous in the long run.Originally posted by Mark_ab

listening to thing moderately is damaging? 130db for 5 minutes a day over 4 years is no good.Originally posted by GSteg

So we extrapolate for 130db and get in the area of less than 2 minutes.

but we must remember that some peoples ear are more sensitive than others and 130db of 3000hz is way different than 130db of 30hz. i on the other hand, have bad hearing (family trait) so its not as bad as you think it is (for me anyways)![]()
