    SQ sub with 300 watts

OK. I am starting over with a new system and am looking for a great SQ sub with a little punch that would work well with a JBL 300.1 because its cheap, like me Then I also will be looking for some good speakers also have great SQ and a nice cheap amp for them too.

Image Dynamics IDQ? Adire Audio Shiva? Boston Acoustics ProSeries(probably too expensive).

    Price range for subs/speakers/amps?

i am shooting for no more then $650 on everything total. Thats including 2 amps, 1 sub, component set, 6x9's.

here's a rough guess on prices for the things:
    sub amp (JBL 300.1) - $135
    speaker amp - $150??
    sub - $120???
    components - $130???
    6x9 - $120??

i believe my girlfriend is getting me pioneer 6x9's for christmas. so maybe i will just use those and have some nice front speakers...like the alpine components. Then maybe get that JBL 80.2 to run all 4 speakers. I believe those alpine components are 40 watts rms along with the pioneer 6x9's. So that would power all those speakers perfectly. Would a shiva sound decent with only 300 watts??? Or should i definantly go with the JBL 600.1? Maybe JLaine you can help me out here. What other subs for around that price would keep up with the shiva, for around 300 watts...maybe 600. thanks goddyd4me, those are some good ideas. the alpine type r's and 80.2 sound like my best bet so far. anybody else have any suggestions? or disagree with this setup?

i was just giving estimates...say i only spend $90 on an amp instead of $150....that gives me $60 more to spend on something else. Just nothing outrageous.

I'm thinking about going with an Alpine Type R 12" And then completing the rest of my system with Alpine also. Except for the Pioneer 6x9's that my gf is buying for me. But I will probably replace them so i have all Alpine. Here's the other things I'm thinking about getting...

    Components: Alpine Type R 5.25
    6x9: Pioneer
    Speaker amp: Alpine MRP-F200 (40 x 4)
Sub Amp: Alpine MRD-M300 (300 watts)

P.S. Let me know what you think of it and what I could change to make it a little better.

the kappa perfect 6x9s are about 120 + shippin on ebay, and the type r component systems are about 150 + shipping. definitely get that stuff off there, my friend is gettin the 3-way perfects off ebay soon, and i think hes making a good choice. i think that you should just get a US Acoustics 85x4 speaker amp from www.thezeb.com . its 85 at 4 ohms, unlike the JBL which is only 40. both the type r component system and the perfects can take more that 40 watts RMS
