Re: How does this look for an inexpensive sub solution for my infiniti j30?

I was thinking of getting this sub:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-ALPINE-SWR-1...QQcmdZViewItem

and getting a enclosure from circuit city.

What is a good amp to power that sub for 180$?

    Sub
Amp (scroll down to the 400MSX refurb)
    Prefab Sealed Enclosure

Looking at less than $300 for a better setup (though I'm not too impressed with the enclosure it claims to have appropriate internal volume for an Assassin 10")

That Type R definatly has more potential than the Kicker Comp, Not to bash on Kicker because they are a great company, but Comparing a Comp to a Type R is like comparing Apples to Oranges. Find you a nice ~600 watt amp (at either 1, 2, or 4 ohms depending on what coil config you get) the Type R 10" and either build your own box, or get a friend to help you/

That would work fine so long as you get a Dual 2 Ohm Type R and wire the coils in series like so:
so you can use the amp in bridged mono mode.

retail stores are the last places u want to buy stuff..markup at those stores are so high.
my friend who worked at best buy told me he could get 50% off with his employee discount on car audio

i just picked up two 10 inch aa assassins today for 55 each. todays the last day to get them at those prices too.

I think I might get this one actually:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/POWER-ACOUSTIK-T...QQcmdZViewItem

Its really close to my house so I wont have to pay shipping!

Will that and one 10" Alpine give be some seat shaking bass?

Stay away from that last seller on ebay BigBuyCity. Look at his feedback 49 negative and 47 neutral in the last month alone .

    http://cgi.ebay.com/KENWOOD-KAC-9152...QQcmdZViewItem

would probably be a better option. I bought from Stereo 2 Go and had a very smooth transaction.
