What's the best sub/box for me?

I have $200 to spend on a sub/box combination. It will be running off a Kicker IX702 210W bridged. I want a sub/box combo that will hit nicely, and provide very tight, and precise base. I listen to mostly metal/punk, and a little rap here and there. but the most important thing is that the bass is tight and crisp. What would be the best route for me to go? I was looking at this bandbass box at crutchfield. http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...1041BP&o=m&a=0

    thanks

Just say to bandpass boxes my friend.
I would suggest you make your own sealed enclosure made out of MDF and take a look at some Comp VR's, eK12's, maybe the Shiva, JL W3

Is this not a reasonable place to park?

Def. go with a sealed box, because that gives the nice tight bass, not too boomy and it is better for SQ

What do you guys think about the Alpine TypeR's? And is there a reason you suggested the subs you did? Or just because they were in my price range... And btw, if I am going to be building my own box, that price wouldn't be included. So it would just be $200 for the sub alone, because my dad has all the hardware to build a box, so that would be free.

    thanks again

    1 12 jlw3v2.. its great
    1 12mtx8000 ok
    1 12 kicker compvr-pretty nice too

    all depends though...

best bet is to hear a few different kinds of subs and music while playing.. and decide from there

but if you are going to get 1 12.. make sure u hear 1 12 and not 2
