I cant tell you what 6.5" component set for under $300 is the best...everyones tastes are different. The best way to choose a set is to listen to a friends, or go to your local shop and have a listen to see what sounds good to you . I will get back to you though with a list of good speakers under $300 from Boston Acoustics, MB Quart, Alpine, CDT, Crystal, Diamond, etc.

Personally I LOVE infinity comps. They are ****ing awsome to listen to. Bostons just sound to....dull. No really high loud tweets.

ok Ive been checking for the speakers list, and found the excelons, personally Im a fan of excelon HU and Amps, but not very much about their speakers and subs, how good are this new components (Xrp-61), also checked the kicker, how good are them?
Yeah the infinitys are a good option, I was thinking about the kappas 60.5, or are the perfects way better?
I liked the high end line of alpine bbut they are pretty expensive, how good are the typer R comps?

Type R comps are nice, the Perfects and Kappas are both nice...very similar, save the bucks and stick with Kappa's. The Kenwoods arent the best speaker, but if you had to you could deal with them.

As for me, I have to guess on a brand cause If I want to listen to any of those mentioned, I will have to travel about 200 miles.

I know I like silk tweeters, but I also like midbass which rules Infinity out. If I can find some MB quarts with silks, I would be happy...

    any suggestions?

Listen to those MB's before you buy them, some people dont like the sound of their highs.

i have focal's and love them, however they are pricey. i just heard some diamond's yesterday and ,WOW, their highs were crisp, and the mids were solid. i was impressed, although i couldn't tell u the model # or price, i think they would be an excellent option!

Notice how everyone has an opinion on what sounds really good? Well, that's because any set of speakers for about $300 is gonna sound awesome.......... I like Boston though.

    Get XM Radio, it's awesome!
