    distance between component speakers

I've been told, not sure by who, that you should keep the distance between the tweeter and mid-bass when installing component speakers to less that 18". My problem is I have a F-250 and with the doors as big as they are, and the speaker location, 18" would still leave the tweeter around knee level, and quite a bit lower than ear level. Any suggestions???? Thanks

The closer the better. First choice is right next to the mids. Second choice is in kick panels down low near the mids. Third choice is higher in the door, and last choice is in the dash. According to an install document I saw while checking out some comps (Infinity Perfects, I think).

    Definitely KICKS baby !!

Both midbass and tweeters in kick panels would be the best set up in my opinion. That way neither side is too close to the listening position and compromising the stereo image. Just my opinion.
