Room for one 12 inch sub! Help and Opinions NEEDED

Hi everyone, I just got my 2002 Harley Davidson F-150 a month ago and i am now ready to put a sub in. Luckily this is a 4 door truck and the back seats are two seperate bucket seats. There was a center console in between the 2 seats that i removed the other day. I went by a few audio shops in town and they said they have room to fit just about any 12 inch sub i want in a sealed enclosure firing forward with a nice custom amp mount on top of the box. Well right now I am leaning towards 12 inch titanium or aluminum eclipse sub. Are there any other suggestions or opinions on amps or subs?? I want this sub to be loud with not only SPL but also SQ. It can be a little more on the SPL side but it has to sound nice. This will be my first car audio upgrade and i will not be installing this my self. Any suggestions or opinions on what I should get will be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your time and sorry for such a long post.

    Mike

Don't know your price range but you could put in one JL W6v2. It should have good sq and pretty good spl depending on how much power you put into it. You can get them for about 279 also.

W6V2 stated rms is 400, but many people run up to 800 rms with no problem. A good amp would be the JBL 600/1 if you are looking to keep the price down. Wire the sub to a 2 Ohm load and push 600 watts to it. People have told me that it would sound really nice. This is basically the exact same thing I am planning on doing.

    hey

ok i went by another place today and they said they can put 2 10" Kicker L7's back there. He said it would be a perfect fit. They would be on the floor up/forward firing with the porting (i think thats what he said) coming up along the back wall of my truck. Just thought i would let everyone know that is also a option. A little more expensive than the eclipse plan but an option. Thank you goddy and beachboy for your suggestions...c'mon people help me out..lets get some more suggestions in here.

either eclipse or Kicker, both options that you have picked are going to be very impressive in that airspace, the Ti's are sick subwoofers

i agree w/ the eclipse Ti. push it w/ the jbl 600/1 or a jl 500/1. the Ti and jl are a bit pricy, but would sound sweet!

    mray

thanks a lot mray appreciate the info. So you would go with the eclipse over the kickers. Also do you think the aluminum wouldstill be pretty loud or should i go with the titanium? Overkill???((I dont really believe in overkill) lol thanks

i guess, if $ permited i'd do the ecplise Ti. ur right, no such thing as overkill! the alum would get pretty loud in their own right, either would be a good choice. and either will give you good SQ. all the eclipse's i've heard get loud and sound clean.

if your after all-out loud, the two L7's, in theory, would/should get louder per same amount of power u'd give the eclipse's. this would be due to the greater surface area,(ability to move more air), that two woofers,(over one), would provide.

    my choice...........................

    1) Ti 12 w/ jbl 1200/1
    2) L7's w/ jbl 1200/1
    3) Alum 12 w/ jl 500/1 or jbl 600/1
