Icon32 Finetuning of my car stereo. Plz help!

    Hi everybody!

I just bought a Nissan Stanza and yesterday I completed installing my car stereo in it.

I have installed everything and it seems quite nice, but I need some help on how to set the various speakers and the sub to a perfect "gainlevel" to get the best sound.

My car stereo is as following:

    Head unit: Pioneer DEH-3400 4x50W MOSFET. 2x lineouts. 1 for the sub(rear) and 1 for my 6x9's

Front speakers. Pioneer 2x 6.5" (or something) inside of the doors (quite old speakers) 40w max

Rear speakers: Pioneer 2x 6x9" 3-way Accelerate (New!) 330W MAX and 80w nominal input. Driven by AMP.

Sub: Rockford fosgate 12" (some 100w RMS) Driven by AMP.

Amp: Marquant 4x200w MOSFET. 95w/channel RMS. Bridgeable to 600w.

So does anyone have a website or something that describes how I'm supposed to set all speakers according to each others so that I get the best sound. (I'm i.e. thinking of how much bass should be driven into the speakers instead of the sub ect.)

    In advance, Thanks!

    Best regards,

if your amp has x-overs for both the subs and 6*9's then turn the gains all the way down on both of them. then turn the HU up to the loudest you'd ever listin to it (about 75-80%) slowly turn up 1gain control at a time untill you hear it distort, then back it down just a touch. do the same for the other gain. if you have difficultly hearing the second gain control disconnect the speakers you just tuned so that you dont have to mess with the gains any more. hope this helps!

    Tnx!

Thaks a lot. It helped me very much, but I still need to set how much bass/treble that should be played in the various speakers. A friend of mine has NO bass on his main speakers and full bass on his sub woofer. This works fine with the rap-songs and trance he's listening to, but I'm more of a rock type of guy and need more mid-tone. But then I can't turn the volume too high 'cause the front speakers will distort. How can I set the "perfect" relation for bass/treble for the various speakers?

    Please help.

Set your volume to your normal listening volume. Then get a piece of music you are very familiar with. Then turn the bass up until you hear distortion. Then back it down just a hair. Same goes for the treble. Then make any fine adjustments while you sit back and enjoy
