    Icon33 alpine type r speaker PROBLEM-Please help

Thanks for taking a peek. I just installed some nice big type r speakers. I installed them yesterday. I drove around for about 4 hours last night enjoying their excellent sound, but this morning they started actin funny. I was listening to a Ludacris cd and about 10 seconds into one of the songs, instead of crisp lyrics all I heard was the subs and a bunch of golf ball noises. The same thing when I tried the radio, music for about 20 seconds, then golf ball poppin noises. Maybe its god getting mad at me for thumpin out on Sunday morning, but I don't know! I just turned off everything at that point and I await your replies. Whats going on??? Please help.

yea, break in point is important, could be that your spider has come loose, all over or just a tad, and the voice coil is hitting the sides......check that out....

that happened to me before. it was just a wire (that i carelessly forgot to tape) was touching and it made all this static. i took the car over to the shop and the gu told me all my speakers were blown and give me all new ones (which was good cause new speakers are always better than used ones.....
