    Eclipse Lmt Subwoofer

    looky, looky what I've found......

Eclipse is reintroducing the sw8000 aluminum cone sub series with the a LMT coil/motor. I think this is absolutely huge news and I wounder how much it varies from the RL-S?

I love how in the little box they try to swing it as if it's their own technology

Anyways....definitely interesting. I'll probably head down to my local dealer once those start hitting shelves to check out the price tag and give them a listen. Given the few specs listed, it appears to be a much more "reasonable" implimentation of the design as compared to the Rl-s. Less excursion and lower Qts. I'd be interested in seeing a full DUMAX on them with Bl and Kms curves as well as a full set of T/S params. Wonder what their inductance and sensitivity are.....??

agreed. I am glad to see that they took the basic basket used on the 3hp, gave it an updated look and used the skinnier/lower profile surround for more Sd. It appears that they will be using a single spider instead of the dual on the RL-S. Also, can't wait to see if they really follow through with the claim that they will use the QCA design. Seems like that would be adding alot of unnecessary thickness to the top plate and increasing the need for more copper in the gap than is required. So many unanswered questions at this point. I can't wait to talk to my Rep today and see if they have an MSRP settled and availability schedule for them.

    Re: Eclipse Lmt Motor

After talking to my rep, it sounds likethe MSRP of the SW8200 will be $399 and the SW8000 will be priced at $349, both should be available by April. I think these prices are very reasonable for such a new and exciting technology from a major manufacturer. Man, can't wait to check these things out in person.

Any chance you could score a full T/S parameter list?

    Re: Eclipse Lmt Motor

My bad, I fixed the link to show the page with the 8000 series.

Squeak, I talked to some peeps and found out that Eclipse should be getting there sample soon (next few weeks) and then a full production batch that will go through quality control and hopefully be available as soon as end of February or beginning March. So after they recieve there samples, they should have the full T/S specs on them. As soon as I know anything further I will share with everyone
