Icon32 12" Alpine Type R Vs. JL audio w3d2?? Which is better??

Both of these subs are popular sellers..I wonder which is the best overall..Between the two which would you think would have the best response in a small enclosure...Also which sub has the best SPL?? and SQ??..I am thinking of getting Alpine Type R's..But I have never really looked at them so I just want some personal opinons on the sub!!

JL subs no longer for sale

Going to get two 12" MA audio xl comps...another experimental system setup..They should prove better than the JL's

Both are really nice subs. In my opinon the Type-R hits veay clean very Nice SQ and at same time really good SPL. As for the w3 very hard hitting sub spl wise and keeping SQ very fair not as nice as the Type-R's SQ. The w6 would be the better choice than a w3 in this face off but thats just me.

As far as the 10s go, I would say the JL w3s are better. Mainly because they have more x-max, and good sound quality. . But the typre r's can handle more power, I don't know about the 12s
