    popping noise

i just got my system hooked up in this car for the first time and when i turn it up loud....one of them seems to pop once in a while. there a few things i think it might be...help me find which is it:
    1) The subs are sharing the same air instead of having a divider. (Maybe one is pushing the other to far and making it pop)
    2) The 1200.1 is hard on my car and it seems that everytime it has popped the lights have dimmed also....maybe im sending it a clipped signal?
    3) Sub is partially blown

Please dont be #3....but let me know what u guys think it might be

Also when i opened up the trunk and turned it up loud and looked at them....it looked different...i didnt hear any popping but i did see that on the big bass hits when the lights dimmed the subs didnt really hit.....i think its a really clipped signal? If the problem is the box....i already bought a piece of wood and will be fixing my box this weekend.

that popping sound might be that the voice coil isn't moving straight up and down, the suspension might not be doing its job on some notes, causing the voice coil to hit the side of that wall.....i experienced this before, check your gains, and also, wut i did was tap on the cone, and if u hear the same poping noise, ya might have a problem...it sound like the problem i had, i ended up blowing my subs due to lack of knowledge...

I would go with either the amp clipping or what Sspider said. I highly doubt that it would be the box. I don't use dividers and I have never had that problem..........because of it. The more I write this, the more I agree with Sspider.....check the gains.

i pushed on the cone and seemed normal. they worked completely fine today...i think it has something to do with clipping...because i realized it worked fine all day yestrday until i turned my lights on and that probably ****** more power from my alternator and had less for my system. Getting my alternator rewound a little more should take care of that problem right?

i'm not sure if the amps goes into clipping that way...but if you can afford a rewound, IT NEVER HURTS...
