    Trick Box Ideas

Well im starting on my box for my 97 Explorer sport this weekend. Were putting 3 12"s in. People on here always talk about technical stuff like volume and porting and stuff like that but does anyone have any cool ideas for a box they would like to share? Me and my buddy who are doing it are going for a little bit of a stealthy look where most of the crazy stuff is out of view. The box will be curved slightly to allow all 3 12"s proper clearance and the box will extend to the exact angle of the seat. When the seat folds down it will reveal the 2 amps and caps with dist. block mounted on 3/4" plexi that lets you view the back of the subs and box while looking at the amps. Anyone have any cool ideas they would like to throw in? (my amps can be flush mounted) Im totally open to anything...im gonna try to post pics on here as we go. Thanks!

You can get some actuators and have the seats open up by remote.

select products sells them but they are expensive. As for the plexi mounting there are a couple different ways to do this.
    1. Mount the plexi on the otside of the box. Just predrill the holes in the edge of the plexi glass. Then paint the edge of the plexi to dress things up a bit. Then when you mount the plexi to the box use some foam weather stripping.

    4. Mount the plexi on the inside of the box. Use a router to cut out a hole for the plexi. But make the hole about 3/4" to 1" smaller than the plexi. Then using the router cut a lip for the plexi to sit in. Then ou mount it the same way as before using the weather stripping.

D@mn this stuff is hard to explain without actually showing

At least 3/4" you might want to get 1" to be on the safe side. Unless you know somebody that can bend plexi for you. When you put a bend in plexi it strengthens it considerably .

you could probably bend it yourself. you just need an acetylene torch and heat it and let it sag between 2 posts. it is extremely hard to control though.
