    This Sub Any Good?

    http://cgi.ebay.com/POWER-ACOUSTIK-M...QQcmdZViewItem

What amp should I get to power it? Sealed or Ported? Will this compare to an MTX 9500 15" Sub? Hows the SQL & SPL?

    Re: This Sub Any Good?

Ive heard great things about that sub in terms of SPL... SQ though, havnt heard amazing things about it.

The 9500 is a much better all around sub, the mofo just gets loud.

    Re: This Sub Any Good?

I would definitely chose the 9500 over a Mofo. According to Lloyd (bigbassman) whose tested the Mofo against many other subs, they don't even get that loud. I wasn't impressed with the SQ of the one I heard at all, could have been the install, but follows with other people's responses Ive read.

edit: you should include a budget if you want recommendations

Reconing an old one with new parts would yield exactly that. Im sure there are some floating around.

Good point about the 0 feedback. But those are the sorts of deals I would look for. You can pick up a Brahma or XXX in the low 300's if you look around and be patient. Either would suit your SQL needs nicely. Both the Brahma and XXX are a step up from the mtx9500 imho, and like 3 steps up form the Mofo.

Humm for that amount of money I'd go kicker I'd go here

Very inexpensive, (wish I'd bought my kicker's from there) but I went here

Plenty of pre fab boxes out there for those subs that will hammer too

    Re: This Sub Any Good?

in the car audio industry you definetly get what you pay for
you will never find a sub for $150 that will be anywhere near comparable to a $500-600 sub

    Re: This Sub Any Good?

    If I bought 3 of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/Kicker-CVR10-10-...QQcmdZViewItem

In either 10's or 12's would they sound alright? And what type of amp would I need to power them?
